Philipp Hainzl will share his expertise on the life sciences scene in Vienna and on services that the Vienna Business Agency can provide to support companies. His career has taken him from research to leadership at the biotech startups Haplogen and Horizon Discovery and to the major pharmaceutical company Takeda. Today, he is head of the Vienna Life Sciences Platform LISAvienna, and also responsible for the Vienna Business Agency's Startup Labs at the Vienna BioCenter, providing lab space and infrastructure.

Elvira Kainersdorfer will provide an overview of Vienna’s life sciences landscape. She is a cluster manager at LISAvienna, where she advises biotechnology, medical technology, and pharmaceutical companies on start-ups, relocation, funding, cooperation, infrastructure, and internationalization. She promotes networking within the industry at international trade events and through cooperation with associations such as Biotech Austria, CEBR, GPMed, and ÖGMBT.

MADx CEO

Christian Harwanegg will share his experience founding and scaling a global medical tech company from Vienna to the world. Before founding MacroArray Diagnostics GmbH (MADx) in 2016, Christian Harwanegg had already spent two decades in the field of experimental allergy test development. From 2010 to 2015, he headed the Austrian branch of the global market leader in allergy diagnostics. He then founded MADx, which has since has established itself as a leading developer and manufacturer of high-precision allergy and food intolerance tests. The product range serves laboratories, medical practices, hospitals, and allergy centres worldwide.
