Webinar: Researching Life Sciences in Vienna

Benjamin Missbach will present Vienna’s research landscape. He is a Program Manager at the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF), Austria's largest non-profit research. Benjamin brings nearly a decade of experience in research management and funding. At WWTF, he bridges academic research and funding administration with a strong focus on fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders, from researchers and universities to patient advocates.

Dr. Mark Anthony will share his experience moving from the U.S. to Vienna as a researcher. He is an assistant professor at the University of Vienna in the Center for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science and is currently a WWTF Vienna Research Group Fellow. The group he leads is focused on fungal ecology with a particular focus on biotrophic fungi that colonize and influence the development of plants. Mark completed his PhD in Natural Resources and Earth System Sciences in 2019 at the University of New Hampshire and then worked as a postdoc at ETH Zürich and WSL.

Cornelia Länger will present the Vienna Business Agency’s services for international professionals. She is an immigration consultant offering advice on residence and employment law to international researchers and their family. At the Expat Center and Business Immigration Office, her team provides individual consultations on all aspects of daily life and assists expats with the initial steps in their new environment. Cornelia previously worked at the University of Vienna and has profound knowledge and experience in navigating the Austrian immigration system.
