Register now!
The Open Source 101 event series offers a practical and strategic overview of open source software and its significance for businesses, government, and society. The aim is to equip decision-makers, developers, and interested parties with in-depth knowledge so that they can competently assess the opportunities and challenges of open source.
After a brief introduction by the organizers—the Vienna Business Agency and Open Cities—key topics will be addressed.
These include:
- Legal foundations and licensing models: What different open source licenses are there?
- Strategic goals and business advantages: How can open source software be specifically integrated into business strategies? What role does it play in cost efficiency, technological independence, and accelerating innovation cycles?
- Governance models in open source communities: How do decision-making processes work in open source projects?
