Digital Humanism Conference 2026
Orientation in turbulent times
The Digital Humanism Conference is back in Vienna in 2026. Inspired by the Vienna Manifesto on Digital Humanism, the conference will gather leading thinkers, researchers, and innovators to critically examine the development of digital technologies and explore proposals for shaping them in line with human values, democratic principles, and social justice.
At the heart of digital humanism is a commitment to ensuring that technology strengthens our shared human rights and freedoms rather than undermining them. Over the course of three days, panelists and participants will debate and discuss how to once again place people and society at the center of our digital future.
Key topics of the 2025 conference included the design of artificial intelligence—from its societal impact to issues of explainability, transparency, and fairness—as well as the role of AI in cybersecurity. Equally important were the power of technology platforms and the future of international technology regulation. The conference also addressed AI in the context of social media, democracy, and journalism, along with innovation and emerging applications.
This year's motto is 'Orientation in turbulent times.' More information about speakers and how to get tickets will be available closer to the time.
